What does OnFinance actually do?
We're a licensed provider of credit assistance, not a lender. We help you understand your options, compare suitable products from our panel of lenders, and guide you through the application.
Can you help if I've had credit issues before?
We'll still do our best to find a suitable solution. Every application is assessed individually by the lender. We can't guarantee approval, but we can promise honest, judgment-free advice.
Do I qualify if I receive Centrelink income?
Some lenders on our panel do consider Centrelink income as part of an application. We'll talk through what's realistic for your circumstances.
Does it cost anything to talk to OnFinance?
An initial conversation and comparison costs nothing. If we proceed with credit assistance, our fees are disclosed upfront in your Credit Guide and Credit Quote before you sign anything.
How are you paid?
Our credit representatives are generally paid a commission by the lender on settlement, which is not payable by you. In some cases a direct fee (disclosed upfront, and no more than $2,000) may also apply. Full detail is in our Credit Guide.
What information will I need to provide?
Generally your income, expenses and identification details, so we can understand your financial position and make sure any product we suggest is suitable for you.
How long does the process take?
It varies by lender, product and your individual circumstances, so we're not able to promise a fixed turnaround time. We'll keep you updated as your application moves along.
Which lenders do you work with?
We work across a panel of lenders and choose the products most suitable for your situation. Our current panel is available on request and is detailed in your Credit Guide.
What's the difference between pre-approval and final approval?
Pre-approval is an early indication based on the information provided; final approval happens after the lender completes its full assessment, including verification of your documents.
What if I'm not happy with the service I received?
We have an internal process to hear and address concerns quickly and fairly. If you're still not satisfied, you can escalate to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). See our Dispute Resolution page for details.
Still unsure? Ask the awkward one.
